..On each side, two Moplahs who gave the signal for the uprising by murdering English settlers..

Sciences et Voyages published pictures in 1922 August - only mentioned the Name of Ali Musliyar.
Following is the original photo caption:

“A portrait of Mohammed Ali, who was one of the main architects of the revolt. His capture and execution discouraged his supporters and led to their submission. On each side, two Moplahs who gave the signal for the uprising by murdering English settlers”

This pro British article narrates : “The Moplahs, more fanatical than their co-religionists in the North and West, come up with a more violent expression to their protests, and, as early as 1919, they declared that they owed obedience only to the great lord, the Caliph, the Sultan of Turkey.”
This also highlighted that ‘Gandhi  was supporting Muslims’.

Sufism was presented as the cause of the uprising: “Islamic mysticism was the cause of a real civil war’ with a claim of providing details that have ‘not been published anywhere else’.

This article also says that British suspected Russian involvement in the protest “Suddenly, the strike turned into a riot. Was the movement prepared, as has been said, by emissaries of the Soviets? It is known that there is an "Institute of Propaganda in Asia" in Moscow, where representatives of all Asian nationalities are trained in revolutionary procedures”

This really shows the intensity of the threat faced by British from Malabar.

The article did not mention the name of two supporters of Ali Musliyar.

And tried to not mention the name of Kunhahammed Haji in the article.

Whether this pro Colonial propaganda article want to bring to light the picture of Variyankunn ?
